Quality film. Baldwin plays this part and scene very well, considering he's not the best of actors. But Jack Lemon as Shelley "The Machine" Lavene is undoubtedly the best character of them all in this film.

Great scene. Mamet actually isolated Baldwin from the rest of the cast so what you see is the first time spent with them. He did this for effect. Apparently Baldwin was self concious around such legendary talent & he believed that they were talking behind his back about what a pretender he was. (which wasn't true) The result is a remarkable performance.
