You are not correct on that statement. There was regulation and government subsidies. These regulations stimulated the high risk loans that have given us our current situation with banks asking to be bailed out because of lack of liquid assets. Look up the American Revitalization Act created by Carter and put on steroids by Clinton. This act created the bubble that have today. They even mention it on saturday night live. Ron...Insane, I'll give you just this one last piece of my mind, even though I don't think it will do you any good. Ron Paul voted against most of the spending. He always votes against the bills that fund unconstitutional programs; most of the money Congress spends is on programs/things that the Constitution does not authorise. If the rest of the Congress voted like Ron Paul, the deficits would end and we would be paying down the national debt. Get a clue. We'll see you in the funny papers.

Ron Paul voted for huge irresponsible tax cuts that created massive deficits and then said it was due to out of control spending. The tax cuts were almost THREE times larger than the spending increase. Bush's tax cuts reduced federal revenues by 4% GDP in 4 years. Bush increased spending by 1.5% GDP in 5 years. Furthermore gov spending FELL as a %GDP over 20 years because gov spending has not been able to keep up with a growing economy that doubles in size every 30 years.

I loved Ron Paul's run for liberty and thank him for getting me interested in libertarianism.....but I am disappointed in his endorsement of Chuck Baldwin. The guy seems like a good candidate but to me he is what republicans were just before 9/11. Fiscally conservative but radically religious. Ron Paul's republican philosophy is that of many years ago to the time of Barry Goldwater. Chuck Baldwin and the Constitution party aren't socially liberal or tolerant. They believe in a Theocracy.

You're not missing a thing. There is barely any real policy difference between Obama and McCain, for the noteable exception of fiscal policy and abortion. Obamas tax scheme temporarily benefits the middle/lower class, and McCains scheme temporarily benefits the upper class and business. If you can't have a president that will do the right thing, pick the one who will at least give you a bit of relief. Overall they are both going to spend a bunch of money. God bless Ron Paul. It should have been him in the debates as top Republican against Obama. I am an Obama supporter all the way, buy my faith in Ron Paul shares the same trust in what's right and good for this country. The attitude is what's great about him.
