In that case you're probably ending the roll too far over on your side. The roll should go from shoulder to just BEFORE your hip, staying on the meaty part of your back before your momentum carries you to your feet. If it's a higher roll, you might finish the roll going almost more sideways, and if you're trying it on concrete then it's probably just going to smart a little.

i dont roll in a diagnol patter i roll striaght i bend my head hit the ground on the back of my neck and then push my self up. it sounds like it hurts but it dont hurt me.
