My absolute favourite movie ever! For me it has it all. It's a great story, funny and with great characters! Did anyone mention the fantastic camera work and lighting? I couldn't live without this movie! It makes me believe in a exiting world every time I watch it! Big thanks to Susan Seidelman!

They did have an MGM printing back a few years ago but that was before MGM went under and got bought by Sony. Not sure if Sony has made it active again but you should be able to find it on ebay. Just a warning though the transfer isnt too great because its a cult flick they didnt put a lot of time into the dvd.

This is my favourite contemporary Vampire movie. It's visually stylish and atmospheric, with a great soundtrack. Anybody knocking this film obviously doesn't appreciate these qualities. Catherine Deneuve makes this worth watching just for her incredible beauty and mysterious quality alone - the modern day Garbo!!!!

Yea I found it cruel and tacky for them to keep nominating her when it seemed like they had no intention of awarding her the Emmy. But I now see why they do not award talent, considering they have awarded the Emmy to people in the last several years who did not deserve it...that says more about the judge's taste in acting than it does on Susan's "poor take" on Erica (as they would want people to think). Susan has played Erica perfectly and is a terrific actress.

Apparently, from what I have read, they did not like how Susan played Erica over the top. In their words (and I am paraphrasing)-"she thinks big is better". What the idiot judges did not realize is that this is the character of Erica Kane. She is an over the top character. That is Susan's way of playing her and everyone in that audience knew that, hence the big applause since they knew this win was long overdue.

LOL, a month later on AMC, Erica was getting ready to go to Rio to have her face fixed, so they had her send herself 19 dozen pink roses. They said it was Erica's lucky number, but it was really to honor Susan and the fact that she'd finally won. It was a pretty awesome scene. Never seen that many flowers.

You know, it's easy to compare Susan T to Bonnnie Raitt (as I just did) -- Bonnie always went for an acoustic-blues sort of sound, a little folky -- Susan sounds like she prefers electric blues styling, and pushes her voice to make it gritty -- more soulful. susan generally makes me want to drink and dance, pitch romance -- Bonnie does more of that Celtic lament style, that heart-break sound, completely disconsolate. So I dig Susan for her hot red heart in the middle of her strong blue sound

Susan T is very good, very soulful -- she does this music because it appeals to her, and she interprets it movingly. The only thing I miss is what Bonnie Raitt (whom Susan sounds a lot like) always had: a clear, sweet, high vocal range - Bonnie could always hit those money notes effortlessly, and make the tears start to your eyes -- if Susan T would develop her voice more, she could really knock people out on demand - but still, she's great

Someone previously mentioned that Susan Graham's singing was "never too sensual", which works so perfectly with this role of Margarite. Margarite is a sheltered innocent from another time period where young women were shielded from anything sensual and taught from childhood all of the religious virtues. I find Susan's interpretation absolutely perfect and vocally stunning. I can't say enough good things about this performance.

Susan n'a pas seulement une magnifique voix qu'elle contôle parfaitement, mais elle chante avec une intériorité et une force qui nous laissent pantois.Elle chante très bien le français. Pellmeli trouve qu'elle n'est pas sensuelle à son goût.Ce rôle n'est pas celui d'une "pute"! Actually, I hate this song. It's kinda terrible. Whitney Houston just has the power to make anything sound brilliant. But even she had to pull out all the stops and go all through her range to make this crap sound good. These lyrics have no believable meaning whatsoever.
