are you kidding? there were plenty of bands that weren't rock. it depends how broad your definition of rock is, though. 60s still had a lot of blues, Chuck Berry, BB King, Sam Cooke etc. And 70s had a lot of other popular bands besides rock, and you just need to check it out yourself if you're interested. Every generation had its prime rock hits and bands, but there were a lot of other genres that were popular as well. My favorite decades were the 70s and 90s for rock, personally.
