Hey dj stevie dee, Great videos. Light jockey is the way to go. Can you control the intensity of the color strips with light jockey? Or does the fixture not let you turn them down? I just wonder if you could dim them. Some guy on youtube says, the color strips are to bright. So he put 15% tint on them.

I understand that, but If I attempt to do that I will loose the runway effect (which is one reason I bought these lights). I think that's where the confusion keeps coming in from everyone.

As a suggestion for this, you could program the fixtures as a runway configuration in DMX mode, then you could grab any fixture on the fly as desired. The purpose of the Master/slave mode is precisely for one fixture to be controlled, while all other respond to the identical commands given to the "master" fixture. So, in effect, doing what you are requesting defeats the mode, but I understand the desire to do so. I will pass this along to our development team and see what can be done.

You need to use the DMX out port on the Colorstrip rather than the Master/Slave out, and put each Colorstrip on its own set of channels: #1 - ch1-4 #2 - ch5-8 #3 - ch9-12 etc. Then you can control them all separately.

I think it would have been nice if you could have allowed DMX to run through the master/slave chain so that I could independently set each fixtures address then if I enabled that channel, it would cease responding as a runway and instead act on the DMX signal. But for now, I guess we'll just have to section them into groups of master/slave units.

To differentiate between the modes utilize the menu function on the units and set each to a different DMX channel. For example, fixture one DMX address=1, fixture 2 DMX address=15 (for example) and then you will be able to control the fixtures separately. The menu map and manual detail this process as well. You can not have individual control of the COLORstrips when they are in master/slave mode

no that is what Master slave mode is, the rest of the slaved units will replicate the "master" unit, the only time this is different is when there are doing a runway chase effect. The COLORstrip can also operate in stand alone mode, this may work for what you are trying to do.

Yeah I can make static colors with the controller, but as of right now I don't have control of each individual controller when they are linked together. If I make the master unit a static red all of the color tubes go to red.

Thanks for the review. I am concerned about the light's inability to be individually controlled. I assume they are not addressable then? The runway chase effects are great, but if that's all it can do, then that greatly limits the application. Are there any dip-switches (or such) to create static colors without using a controller? Yeah as of right now I only have them in Master/Slave DMX. It doesn't appear that I can control each light seperate though, which is kind of a bummer when it comes to programming. In regards to that program your talking about, do you have the DMX numbers that you are running with your controller. I can try to mimic it with light jockey and see what it's spitting out.

Not really any faster than a lot of other lights. Some people are more sensitive than others, some will complain about a mirror ball. It doesn't have the kind of horizontal projection as like a derby light, you'd probably need two do get decent coverage, if mounted as shown.

No, it's not at all like a colored strobe light. There is some slow strobing built into it's programs that it cycles through, but it is more like a Kinta, but turned on its side, and instead of the spinning action, it sweeps from top to bottom, and changes colors. Sometimes it strobes, but not like strobe like, just a slow strobe.

DJ's gerenally don't do stage performances, unless they are like Tiesto. The ADJ Flash beam (which is a good effect) is a very different effect, even if it does look similar. The Chauvet Stepper is the closest Chauvet effect to the ADJ Flash Beam, and is considerably more advanced (for about the same price) than the Flash Beam, you should take a look and compare the feature list of each. There are some lights that ADJ makes better, and some that Chauvet make better :)

The reason that this LED fixture has a fan is to keep the back side of the die as cool as possible to extend the life of the lights in the fixture. By simply keeping the die 10 degrees cooler at operation temps you can extend the life of the led's by as much as 40%.

Um, no. I did however take the intro of this video, and some of the effect video for this video and the Elan vs. Mystic video, after a gig in this venue. I had asked the client, who is a long time client of mine, for permission to use the venue to take some extra video after the event, while I was cleaning up :) I know for myself, that it is nice to see some video of an effect in a room larger than a living room, when decided if I want to buy a light, so I took the opportunity to do so :)

The Impossibleds are much larger, brighter, as there are more clusters at the back. So definately the Imposse, (I own 2) But I'd definately get the Vue 6 as a secondry light, without hesitating...no questions asked. You will not realise how BRIGHT the Imposse is, and how Massive it is until you actually see it in action at a proper party. I did, and bought 2.

hi, both lights are extremely good,& are from 2 of the best known quality lighting manufacturers. If you are wanting all round coverage ie floor,ceileng & walls then go for the vue6. The impossibled is the same light as the Vue3,but you will need two of these to get the same coverage. I would get 1 vue 6 and 1 vue 3 then you have the best of both worlds I would recommend getting them both demo'd in your local dj gear shop so you can see them "in the flesh" so as to speak. cheers m

hi buddy, they are both really good lights, you are best off getting them demo'd to you in your local DJ gear retailer, and see which one you prefer. I havent seen a mystic in real life yet.....only in vids , so cant really advise :) cheers m

Hi Mike/Rachael, I was actually running the vue vi in sound to light mode for the demo. I havent as of yet had chance to link the light up to DMX. However I am doing a video demo of the chauvet DMX55 controller in the next few days so I'll hook it up for that. Cheers M

NIce vid...are you running this in DMX mode? If so I notice in the DMX value table it shows you can run the pods in White, Cyan and something else I was wondering if the patterns on the floor are these colors also? Thanks for your help.

Hi Mat.....im in that mode now after getting my first leds revo3 and i was after a revo 2 but they didnt have stock so i got a chauvet vue2 except for the dip switches i like the vue2...a bit more strobe like in the display and the guys at adj are not going to like it i like the display on this more than the mystic..but its totally personal taste i know adj have another one of this type of design with more blue leds in....anyway great job! stay intouch! Just taking a look on other thoughts on this. I was on the waiting list for these for months. Like you said, had real issues getting some. When I finally did manage it on the release date to the UK, I could only get 2 Do you know why Chauvet didn't want to release to the UK? It's far the best of the Vue series and I even say hands down on the elan
