it takes like a week to learn how to strum and sing well and the rest is just how well u know the song. also not a great song to judge his guitar skills on lol prob one of his easiest. and people lovestairway to heaven but thats a realy easy song 2 usualy like the second people learn

usualy plaing an istrument and just singing alot helps. for example i couldnt tune my guitar by ear cuz im so tone def lol but now i can and my singing has greatly improved. i dont have a nice sounding voice but its in the right key :)

well you'd have to take lessons, your vocal chords are merely muscles wich can be trained. And you need to learn to breathe and not to close your mouth and to open your throath, to switch between notes quickly and clearly, to switch more smoothely between chest- and head voice (if it's called like that in english, atleast it is in dutch..), and there are probably several other things.. I'm not a singer so I can't help you any further, just don't get classical training, it's a lot different

It actually takes a while for most people to sing and play guitar at the same time. I've played since I was 8 and I'm 15 now, and I only started really singing when I was about 12 (and I'm sure it was terrible). The idea is to learn the music and just rely on muscle memory to take over and really focus on the vocals, cause that's were you really sell yourself at - the vocals.

thats not true anyone can develop a good voice over time you just need to develop an ear for music and a correct tone me i couldnt sing for shit like 2 years ago and now i can sing extremely decent

Well again i love john mayer but if someone can't sing it isn't their fault because they weren't born with a good voice. Like me for example im good with instruments and i can sing at the same time too but i can't sing good because my voice sucks.

Uhm I'm not saying that John Mayer is bad(i love him), but playing guitar and singing at the same time isn't THAT hard. I mean c'mon it's pretty easy... I think people over-rate stuff these days.
