Natalie Cole & Reba McEntire "Since I Fell For You" Posted by: Softsunshine
Video duration: 251 seconds Okay...this could very well be the definitive version of this song. Natalie means every word and McEntire totally transcends on her "It's too bad" (bridge) section. Breathtaking. Note Reba's amusing little insertion during Natalie's bridge. When Natalie sings at 1:57, "...and then you snubbed me," Reba interjects, "You bad boy." I find it amazing that Cimino could assemble a scene with such extraordinary emotional economy but conveys so much; yet, he is also noted for being one of THE most excessive directors of all time. As for Deniro, likely his greatest movie next to Raging Bull and Cape Fear.
By: kpw11985. on 16 Nov 08, 06:28:00
Deniro has to get back to these kinds of roles. Forget about the easy money with the Meet The Fockers crap. What, by th way ever happened to John Savage? He was incredible in this role and, I thought, headed for great things.

So little dialogue, yet so much emotion. Beautiful.

A really amazing movie, I love it. Does anyone know the name of the song which is heard in the beginning?
By: tkwilson1970. on 23 Sep 08, 20:27:51
When I watch this final sequence and hear the strains of Cavatina as the film closes, well, every string in my heart is pulled, every emotion challenged, every hair on my body is raised. I can't describe the sensation any other way. You just feel drained.

jbjb9402: Nicky spitting in the face of Michael is complex. It represents the disillusion of those soldiers that returned home. It is hugely symbolic. I don't mean any disrespect to the US people in that statement. The Viet vets were forgotten by their government. If I understand correctly they were offered very little help and support. Much the same way British soldiers were treated after the 1st World War. God bless them all, and those that never returned.

By: kinmanyuen. on 07 Aug 08, 21:12:59
This is probably the one and only movie ending in my entire life that almost made me cry. Because you get sucked into De Niro's character and lost Nick at the end. Shows how good this movie is.
