Richie made them look like real musicians not just showmen, as a songwriter and musician richie was way much better than any of the poison members. Musicaly this was the best poison album

Well in this song. Thats when CC Deville was in Rehab for hes drinking problem. So he wasnt in the vid. But he is one of my idols. also including slah,zakk wyld,and georg lynch

I agree with richiekotzen on this. CC just cannot come even close in overall skill at his instrument, songwriting, or vocals for that matter. Chemistry - well that's another side of this. CC does seem to have a chemistry with the rest of the guys and their most success came with him. However, this was the best Poison album *IMO* because of Richie's input. You just have more overall range with a guy like that. The fact that he makes shitty choices in girlfriends, well yeah that was a bad call :P

C.C DeVille is the best guitarist for Poison. His solo's fit in awesomely with the style and he suits being in the band. They are my fav band by far and they're all awesome musicians and individuals.

this is just the best video that poison ever had!! CC needed to rest and rehabilitate. Kotzen was the perfect choice to still alive..

In my opinion, CC was better then Kotzen.....when sober. Don't forget, CC got kicked out for drug use. But when sober, no one could touch him. But in replacement Blues Saraceno was better the Kotzen.

Richie was the best thing that could have happened to Poison at that time. He helped them weather the storm of grunge and kept them alive, when they should have died. Honestly, CC sucks live. He just plays notes at a million miles an hour. Native tongue is one of the best Poison records. And that's because of Richie's song writing and playing. can't fault the guy for falling in love, even if it was rocket's ex.

i love poison and all, but i hate Richie kotzen!!!! he cheeses all the songs. C.C. was the best guitarist that poison has ever had. im so glad that he got back with the band.

Great guitar work from Kotzen. I'd forgotten just how damn good that guy was. A much more gifted and mature player than his predecessor in Poison. Yes, this stuff isn't as poppy as the earlier stuff but, then again, if they kept on producing that stuff then they'd only be remembered as a shallow fag metal band. Richie gives them a bit of serious credibility with this effort.

Change like that can be good or bad, it's all a matter of opinion. Personally I like the material with more of Richie's 'aloofness' (I think that's the best word to describe it at the moment). But that doesn't mean the other is bad does it? Just a thought.

I see where you're coming from. But I always thought Richie brought a sense of quiet dignity to the band. It's not that he takes himself too seriously (although that may be part of it), he matured the whole band. Upgraded it past the stereo-typical hair/glam metal. If anything, he made them take themselves more seriously.

I never liked this record. Musically it is a drastic improvement over Look What The Cat Dragged IN and Open Up, but it isn't Poison. It dosen't have the ferocious energy of CC Deville. His energy and aggressive attitude towards the guitar made Poison. Richie Kotzen takes himself too seriously, CC knows how to entertain an audience, whilst playing some cool solos. He does have talent you!!
