the white stripes used to get radio play, what with elephant and all, but they are not a radio band. the hits were obvious back then, but the rest of the albums were mostly odd things with mostly blues and murder ballads based on early american recordings. jack white's sense of this early music really shines in the white stripes. its still there with the raccs, they do the occaisional murder ballad,but i am just more of a fan of the quirky takes on old styles and sounds.
