GaryNull I'm familiar with problems burping was convincing enough for me, then goitrogen concerns which can be deactivated by the steam sample but also mild fermentation. I clicked thinking this would be closest to what I do, opening ingredients enough to tenderize each other under some immersion (i.e. Perrier or coconut water from husk) if not enough moisture between meal items. there's change for digestion frequently within day, max two. {air drying florets on slats optional too for me!}

Questions answered... When did I first start cooking? I never learned to cook, but I learned how to start making raw foods in 1993. Much easier than cooking! Flax seeds: No I don't soak first, that is not necessary and also takes additional time! Other methods: Oven - see earlier post above. Best wishes to all ~ Karen

well if you mean how much nutrients are left in the pulp that you dont drink, as compared to the milk itself it would just be a lot less fiber, because the pulp has a lot of fiber in it. or if youre talking about just plain almonds compared to almond milk, i dont think any nutrients are gained or lost because its just water that you're adding hope i helped!

I'm sorry I can't answer these kinds of questions in depth as the medical side is not my thing. If you have a tickle that suggests irritation - ie, a problem. You don't *need* to eat nuts. Psoriasis can be as much emotional as physical so many factors need to be taken into account.

Yes you can. With a pestle and mortar. It won't be as creamy and smooth but you can do it. You grind the almonds up in the pestle and mortar with some of the water and then gradually add the rest of the water but this takes a lot of time and energy!

Hi, no, I can't think of any other way, except other gadgets involving some kind of blade. You could use almond butter and water and whisk hard and fast for a while, that would be the closest thing to what you're looking for.

The speed of the blades in the blender do damage the proteins and other nutrients. its best to use another method. Just stirring it should be enough; usually the water and nut parts separate which is why it looks thick. Otherwise it may be that you are using a higher ratio of nuts than is usual. Good luck!

Is there any way to keep the almond milk from getting thick after making it? I made a batch, put it in the 'fridge, went back a couple of hours later to have a drink and it's very thick. Even after I added water it thickened later on again.

I live in Australia now and here they call it Muslin. I don't know where you are, but if you are in the UK, they may call it that also. If you are in the US, you could just go to a JoAnn fabrics or even a kitchen store and just ask for it. many little general stores, like Kmart, Walmart or Big Lots sell it also in little bags. if you can't find anything, you could do what I did. I went to a fabric store and bought a big piece of cheesecloth (in the US) and sewed up the sides to make a bag. However I was too lazy to sew it for a few weeks so I just stretched it loosely over a pitcher and secured it with a rubber band and poured the milk into it. Then at the end I just gathered it up into a "bag" and squeezed out the last bit of milk. Then rinsed and threw it in the laundry.

I make a variation of this almost daily. It is delicious. I don't add oil, salt or lemon. I add avocado, onion, garlic and raw kimchee. Kimchee gives it the salt and zing, so no need to add more salt and lemon. It keeps for a couple days really well too. It's great stuff.

It's "raw" soy sauce...meaning unpasteurized, but it is not raw. They were not made from raw soybeans...there was some brewing involved that went above raw temperatures...some raw foodists mind that, some don't...

Grass doesn't break down in this way. You would get liquid from chewing it and this is healthful and great for your oral health, but the fibre itself is not digestable in the human system. If you eat it you could run into problems - not recommended.

I'd like clarification on something please. You do your demonstration with the "cat litter" box that doesn't have any holes at the bottom, but your wheat grass that is already sprouted by the window has been done in boxes that have holes at the bottom. Can you in fact sprout wheat grass with the cat litter boxes (or any box that doesn't have holes at the bottom) or did you just use it for demonstrative purposes? Thanks for your time. That looks amazing and I could probably eat it all, but I can imagine it must have a minimum of 1000 calories. One cup of almonds is about 800 calories and that's about a cup of nuts plus fruits so at least 1000. I would think this would be fine if you cut it in half and have a much smaller portion. 500 calories for breakfast is fine if you consider you need about 2000-2500 a day to maintain your weight! If you're losing weight, just cut down on the nuts and up the fruits!

Well, muesli was made by some swiss doctor for his patients who were fed a diet with lots of fruits. Its a combination of fruits + nuts.. and wheat flakes, rolled oats, barley kernels, and wheat germ.. (the last four ingredients weren't used in this recipe but are essential to a traditional swiss muesli)

Botanically, nuts are classified as a fruit so combining them with fruit is ok. However, if you are trying to lose weight you should not combine nuts and fruit b/c one would benefit from the cleansing benefits of fruit alone. Your body will speak to you if this wonderful recipe is too "heavy".

Beautiful. I make a less complicated version of this and love it. Your mix is quite the motherload, my body wouldn't be able to properly digest all that at once but it looks divine. I sprinkle coconut on top of mine too, cinnamon and agave as well. I take it your nuts were not soaked/sprouted. Almonds are so divine sprouted - perfect for these types of recipes. Thankss!! I love this recipe, plus is very easy. I've just turned 17 and I'm trying to incorporate as many raw foods in my diet as possible. I think it's up to you and you have to see how you feel. I don't eat raw eggs and don't feel the need to (I do lift weights) - you don't have to eat animal produce to have enough protein - but if you want to I would recommend bee pollen - super-high in protein and contains just about everythng else also.

I found it surprisingly tasty, now that I've been on green smoothies for a month, to take a massive amount of spinach, and just blend it with the juice of one lemon and water. Baby spinach has little taste. It smells like fresh grass (good) and tastes like lemon and grass. Which is good.

One can add all sorts of fruit for variety and flavour. We use guavas, pineapples, kiwi fruit,musk melon, blueberries - you name it. The greens are carrot tops, beetroot leaves, spinach(of course!), kale, rape and dandelion leaves (all of which we grow in our garden). As far as I know pesticides are used in growing any commercial mushrooms. They have to control heat, water, soil, and pest. So any mush grown commercial couldn't really be organic. The only trully organic, would have to be gathered from the wild. There are a few species that are very safe to eat raw. Chanterelles, Winter Chanterlles, Oysters, Brants Puffballs, King Boletes, Cauliflour, Meadow mushroom, Hedgehogs. I have eaten and served these species raw in restaurants for years, no poisenings.

Thought I should let you know that people have dried from eating raw commercially grown mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus)the ones you are using. While the mush. themsevlves are safe to eat the pesticides the growers use to kill fly larve, is very deadly to humans also. I don't care how much you wash them you can't remove the toxins in the celluare tissuse, only by cooking on high heat, will it disapate. The toxic mush commitee has found that many people die each year from eating these raw. Eat wild!

GaryNull I'm familiar with problems burping was convincing enough for me, then goitrogen concerns which can be deactivated by the steam sample but also mild fermentation. I clicked thinking this would be closest to what I do, opening ingredients enough to tenderize each other under some immersion (i.e. Perrier or coconut water from husk) if not enough moisture between meal items. there's change for digestion frequently within day, max two. {air drying florets on slats optional too for me!}

What a wonderful series of videos, youre quite the teacher! In response to the person above who asked if you can juice in the blender, the answer is yes! I have also found that you can buy paint strainer bags at most hardware stores and theyre identical (only cheaper) to the nut milk bags bought at healthfood places, to strain your wheatgrass, etc juice. Please keep these videos coming!
