Nice verbose answer....christ! In one of my college nutrition classes we took a few days to discuss the answer to this question. The answer i was left with "It depends who the hell you ask" Every source has a different answer as does every "authority." Anywhere from .5 to 2 grams per kilo of body weight. This video was great. I used to believe in eating a ton of protein to get big. However, needless to say, I discovered that a little bit higher level of complex low glycemic carbs with just a right amount of protein will do the trick better, and also will not leave me feeling like I'm in a state of ketosis.

You are usually told a gram of protein per pound of body weight. But actually it's supposed to be a gram of protein per pound of lean body weight! That is, DON'T count the fat weight! Think about it, if two people have the same muscle mass, but one has 20 extra pounds of fat, that doesn't mean that person needs 20 more grams of protein. So subtract your fat percentage from your weight and then go get your proteins based on that.

yeah, i hear that all the time, ur body can only consume like 30 grams, the rest turns to fat, wotever, it's not wrong, kai greene is proof enough, in his offseason, he consume up to a 1'000 grams of protien a day, and he only seemed to maintain water, not fat, he was just huge and lean, i recall his trainer saying it's bullshit too, and thats why him and kai do this roitine in the off season. i dont puff up with fat, and i hardly do cardio.

so yeah, it dousnt matter, it's just food, forget the protien thing, dont let it get to ur head. just think the more i eat the bigger i get, and the cleaner i eat and the more cardio i do, the more ripped i get, food is just the fuel, i never pay attention to whats on the tin, or packet. i dont think it matters coz im obviously overdosing on protiens judging by this, because i only wieght about 215 atm.

i just dont understand this guy, he's so confusing, just eat shit loads of protien, it fucking works, simple as... even when ur dieting, it works, when i diet i eat huge amounts of haddock at least 4 times a day, a take super pump, and i do abit more cardio than usual, and im ripped. when i want to bulk, i do whats neccicary, i eat like probably up to 400 to 500gms of protien a day, well, probably 3 out of 5 days, it is expensive, and in the weekends i eat wotever and i get bulky as hell.
