I thought about dry ice, but it gives off carbon dioxide as it melts. Probably a bad idea in a confined area like a tent. I would not recommend it.

I use blue ice blocks, and they last all night (7 hrs). From what I ready, blue ice blocks last 25-30% longer than regular ice, so "maybe" 4.5 hrs for regular ice in a 35 qt+ cooler

It depends on the size of the cooler. The larger the cooler, the more ice you can put in, the longer cooling time you'll get. I can get at least 6 hrs of cooling time using Blue Ice Blocks and a 36 Qt Cooler. I personally switched over to Blue Ice Blocks. They last 30% longer than ice, and does not give off as much moisture as ice. Another idea is to fill plastic water bottles about 80% full and freeze them (solution between regular ice and blue ice)

I Would get some cheap deodorant cans and get the liquid out of it and put it in the cooler because the liquid is colder than ice water and would also stay cool when on hot days, i would also put more copper tubing on the fan to make it more cooler

They aren't heat removers... You cannot make heat or cold dissapear. It is a water heater in a sense in that by pumping the cool water throught the piping, it is making the surrounding air cooler, is it not? Well the water in the tubing then absorbs some of the heat it displaced, and eventually you have no more ice. Heat exchange is the simpler term.

first of all, my fridge doesnt make ICE, my freezer does, and it does so by removing the heat from the air in the freezer. "cold" is merely a description for relative levels of heat. but don't worry someday you will learn that in school. the device in this video will quickly heat the water in the tub (heat is also being added by the pump) above the ambient air temp, at which point it will become an air heater. go ahead and build one and prove it to yourself. p.s. the "dammit" was SO impressive.

His invention is a nice idea, but the problem he faces is when temperatures are so hot, especially under humid conditions, that air circulation doesn't make enough of a difference to keep the car cool enough. Also, the fan would have to be powerful enough to circulate all of the air in the car. Even so, should the device fail, the dog dies. Not a desirable outcome at all.

How much would one of those 20 ton units cost? As hard as it has been to tolerate, we've had to deal with a somewhat faulty internet setup. We have an air conditioner that's supposed to be up to the house, instead he moved it 7 feet away and extended it with an air conditioner hose... I can't believe he'd actually pay someone to do something like that. What really doesn't help on top of that is the faulty insulation throughout our home.

If only 3-phase power was cheap, Dave, then we would not have to worry about those stupid single phase capacitor start motors. 3-phase motors just hook up directly to the 3-phase line with no starting capacitors required thanks to the power going in being 120 degrees out of phase of each phase with respect to each other.

window air conditioners are mostly r-22 like dave said, i have also seen some old ones with r-12 and a small handful of 134a but mostly r-22. do not mix different types of refrigerant. also dont use refrig from a unit with a compressor burnout. usually on the compressor it will state what type of refrigerant it is charged with

another way to clean your window ac is to take a small brick or 4x4 wood or anything and lay it in the driveway and set the inside portion up in the air. blast it with the hose on both coils, you may have to remove the inside front cover. when both sides are blasted with the hose. wait a few minutes and do it again. now sit it in the sun and leave it for a day or 2 before plugging it in. it wont hurt it as long as you cover the controls and let it dry completely before plugging it in.
