To the fans that are questioning the "uncharacteristic" nature of the new movie...give up. I'm a long time fan of TOS, and the original cast...but if you thought this was going to be a return to basics...then you're fooling yourself. This is Star Trek's Batman Begins. Paramount isn't in the business of making the fanboys happy, it's in the business of making money (which none of the past Treks ever did in surplus sadly). Your right dude - JJ ABRAHMS, is the worst person to give this too, the technology looks too adavnced - i was looking forward to a lovely nostalgia fest with the sets lovingly used and homaged. The original enterprise that we all knew and loved used in ways we've never seen. But alas...we are in for a dissapointment. JJ has screwed it up...again...The designs are wrong - the story looks questionable at best. This is the worst way to pay homage to a classic. This is going to hurt.

Visually it may be stunning thats par for the course but i think that tha advancments made in special effects means that all things are possible theres no real need to try - so cinematically we've come full circle - we need story and we need something thats faithful to the original text. The Enterprise in this is all wrong, the storyline is shit, and why retcon one of the most well known and well liked series of all time? If they wanted a prequel, why couldn't we have had Captain April? Or to a lesser extent, Captain Pike? Or just make a new cast, new ship, etc. There were plenty of ways to go with a new Star Trek movie, and this one was all wrong.

Yeah it was good, but not deadly funny. Nicholson's scenes as the Joker are more memorable- the scene where he shakes hands with the gangster & fries him with the electric buzzer... the scene in the art gallery with Vicky Vale... this scene- 'that you sugar plums?' -'it's 'me'... sugar plums... Jack, Jack is dead my friend, you can call me- Joker!- and as you can see, I'm alot happier...'

Nicholson was funny with it... all of the lines Nicholson cracked were dealy funny, I didn't find Ledger's Joker funny though, but moreso dark and psycholodgically disturbing. Kinda sucked that he didn't die at the end. Guess warner bros. will have to find someone else to play the Joker in the next Batman movie. Keaton was a better Batman than Bale- Bale's Batman has the funniest voice.

Nicholson will always be the Joker to me but I did love Ledger as the Joker and felt it was a Joker of this time. Nicholson's is very much of it's time (my time 80's kid) and I must say I will not put the two with each other because they are from two very different BATMAN's movie

I don't know much about Relayer, and this is my first time hearing Gates Of Delirium, but I'm surprised to hear that. This song is amazing. White is a killer drummer. If I am not mistaken, he joined after Bruford left (after Close to the Edge was recorded). Bruford was amazing, but White really filled the gap there. His drumming on Tales From Topographic Oceans is simply impeccable.

well awhile back a watched a documentary style vidoe for the band, and apparentely jon walked into the rehursal playing loudly the parts of the song on paino. my guess was he did have a lot of the themes in his head already, but i've heard special pre-release versions of the song and it sounded a lot different. Bassically they had some things to work out. ;)

Yeah, really bad mix. The keyboards are way too loud. I also think it would have been interesting had Patrick Moraz been kept for the Going For The One album. Apparently he had a hand in a lot of the writing of that album. But he got kicked out before recording began and never got writing credit. Shame. Speaking of which... someone told me Jon Anderson almost single-handedly wrote 'Gates of Delirium.' Anyone know if this is true?
