forgive my parochial British ignorance, but Zwarte Piet appears to be a white guy in black make-up? Not knowing the character, I imagine that he's that colour because of hanging round inside chimneys, thus an Afro-Caribbean performer wouldn't be appropriate to paly Piet (unless he also wore the make-up). If that curly hair is a wig, it's rather uncalled-for, since curls would be more likely to pick up chimney dirt.
