I love this video, hahahaha. Always get a kick out of it. The division doesn't work since the person is treating 14 as two separate units: 1 and 4, as opposed to the sum of 10 and 4. When you do the reverse of division (multiply) it with the former, obviously it works: 5 (1+4) = (5)(1) + (5) (4) = 25 However, it doesn't with the latter cause 5(10+4) = (5)(10) + (5) (4) = 70. He needs to treat the 1 as a 10 (it's in the tens place.)

It's better if you have the squares up to 25 memorized. Then you can do the binomial expansion in the form (50a +/- b)^2 That way, only the b^2 term affects the tens and units digits. Mentally keeping track of two fewer digits with less carrying helps a lot. 37^2 = (50 - 13)^2 = 2500 - 2*50*13 + 13^2 = 2500 - 1300 + 169 = 1369 This is especially useful for squaring 3-digit numbers. Similarly, for 4-digit nums, i'lladd/sub from the nearest 500 (e.g. 1737^2 = (1500 + (250 - 13))^2).

Very important thing to KNOW which no one teaches is this: Multiplication is a shortcut for addition ie: 10 x 5 is same as 10+10+10+10+10 Division is a shortcut for subtraction. ie: 50 / 10 is 50-10-10-10-10-10=0 (5) One can take 10 out of 50 = 5 times. To double check an answer use operations in reverse, etc. After a result double check you answer by using any of the other operations to verify results, reverse steps. If every1 learned this no1 would ever be stuck or afraid of math.

This is very easy just multiply 37 by 37 if the question is 37 squared or if the question is 37 cubed then 37*37 and then multiply the answer by 37. it's just multiplaying the same numebers like e.g. (20 squared) we have to multiply 20 by 20 which is 400, so (20 squared) = 400 hope this answer was helpful. please rate my answer thanks
