It would also have been difficult for Pike to cross the Atlantic ocean in the early years of steam boats at the age of 79. He has a statue in Washington DC because of his work for the Scottish Rite and work for the reconstruction era after the Civil War (the reason he was in Washington DC and stayed there till his death).

I will try. I prefer to go to my local library and read the info first hand. I have checked this book out numerous times, they don't let you take it out of the building so you have to read there. The copy I've read is old and appears to be an original. I think most Masons are good people with no evil intention. I have family involved with Masonry. I guess I would have ask what you view as pivitol points in history. The American Revolution was lead by Masons (Washington, Franklin, Revere, among many others) and supported by Masons (Lafayete). Other revolutions that created rights for the people and democratic governments were led by Masons (Bolivar, Geribaldi, Juarez). World War 2 there were no Masons in the Nazi army as the Fraternity had been disbanded and many sent to the camps. Masons have fought for rights, freedoms, and country.

Nope, we don't use any egyptian costumes in Lodge rituals. It posible that in an "Irregular" Masonic Lodge (one that is not recognized due to not following the accepted rules and regulations) they use Egyptian costumes. Masonry (as stated in the video) is based off of what was developed by european stonemasons with the inclusion of allegory going back to the building of the Temple in Jerusalem under King Solomon. There is a degree in Scottish Rite that has an Egyptian character, though.

You will have to give an example of "Egyptian symbology". Most of the symbols in Masonry are based upon ancient tools: Square, Compass, Gavel, Level, plumb, ect. Actually there is very little power at the top. All decisions must be presented to the membership and most have to be approved by members. There is also very litle secrecy, just the information is not broadcasted about, you have to ask and seek it. The leadership is also constantly changing. The Masonic Lodge leaders serve 1 or 2 year terms, Scottish Rite 3 to 7 years, Shriners 1 to 2 years. I have found that most of the leaders are rather humble about their position, not egotistical.
