I've watched both videos, and both give a different feeling. I think Jamelia's version is more about being sexy and sex, whereas Sam's version brings different feelings, anger, disappointment, and change. Jamelia's voice isn't bad, it's more R&B. I listen to many black artists, including Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, but it doesn't mean I have to like R&B. They went through two other singers (Augeri and Soto) before him and had to find him on Youtube in an act of desperation. His voice sounds nothing like Steve Perry's, though. Its stupid that they say it does. Journey shouldn't be a band without Steve Perry and Steve Smith, if you ask me.. It's just not the same.

The band started as session players, actually, and wound up hooking up with a lot of singers over the years. Yes, the original singer had some issues with the band (they made up before their recent break up) but sometimes they simply wanted a different sound. This singer is Joseph Williams, son of John Williams, the composer. Sadly, ToTo recently broke up. Check out Steve Lukather's solo album...it's really very good.
