Diane Lane would be too old at this point. I always thought Karen Allen looked an awful lot like Karen Carpenter, but she too is beyond the age. I can't even recall who played her in the TV movie... This is certainly my favourite. Karen had such a pure, other worldly voice that no singer has come near to. When I listen to her I am transported on an emotional journey and I feel the joy and the sorrow she sings about. Karen, these tributes are a proof that you are loved and missed, even now. When I hear your voice after my own passing, I know I will be in heaven. God bless!

This came from the LP Horizon which is still (in my humble opinion) the best LP ever released next to Voice Of The heart. I often wonder what K & R would sound like 2day. Was there ever a voice that touched the heart & soul like KAC's? (rhetorical) The sincerity, honesty, purity, & yes, even pain she sings with is clearly evident in every song she sang. RIP Karen, you are dearly missed by so many.

I had to look this one up as my folks no longer have the cassette. I likely wore it out! This is their most interesting song, it follows the formula of building up and up toward the end, and it's still fantastic! Karen's voice is better then Linda Rondstat. Imagine her signing with the Eagles in the earliest days!

As far as early hard rock, I would say, look at 1974 too. Bad Company and KISS. Our family had a contemporary piano book in the 70s with Bad Company in it! That was a bit of a shock, but it shows how powerful the music must have been over all. Many great rock acts emerged and survived the 70s...which is saying a lot!

well, i wasn't around while they were going strong, sadly :( but i think it wasn't cool, because they were like The Osmonds, all sweet and innocent and "fluffy" I think that's what i heard in a documentary about them. It's amazing how much music is out today though, that you could say was influenced by The Carpenters in some way.
