I don't really get the Nick Cave comparisons. I'm a fan of Tindersticks and The Bad Seeds (in fact I've got all the studio albums ever recorded by both artists)but aside from the baritone quality of Staples' and Cave's voices, I can hear few stylistic similarities between the two singers. Cave's voice has a very angry, rasping edge to it while Staples' voice has that drunken, whimsical quality. But whatever...this is a great song.

Whew. That's a hell of a video for a hell of a song. It might be the most sensual music video I've ever seen, without really showing any skin. I'd love it if more music videos were this simple and focused. I'd also love it if there were more bands who could make this kind of elegant and stunning music, but I'll take what I can get.

That's a good point. The Departed is a much more gritty, realistic movie. But the more emotional struggle of IA appeals to me more. Still, because the Departed is more brutal, I don't feel as though I can identify with many of the characters, whereas in IA they feel a little more human (to me at least) and therefore less polarized.

I love the ending scenes to Infernal Affairs. The way the shock in Lau's eyes turns into determination just as the elevator door closes. The flashback at the end where Lau would rather be the dead but loyal cop rather than the corrupt mole who is alive. The quote at the end, reflecting on both character's situations. It all sets a brilliant tone for this movie.

i don't get the last part. undercover was good guy and the traitor in police officer didn't die. but when the guy shot at the undercover police. why? and when he said something about i'll go wherever you go. and when they go down to elevator. the other police died. did the traitor guy shot him or the shot himself? anyways the story was marvelous. please tell me what just happen in the last part? im little bit of confuse. thank you
