My band, a death metal band, covered this song for years. We may start again...who the hell knows...but this song is POWERFUL! If you listen to the message it brings, it is basically about a man driven insane that kills his wife and himself. Dark. Powerful. Yet so relevent. Bono is a master singer and songwriter. Kudos to U2 for this album. It is highly underated in my opinion.

i think you misinterpreted what i wrote. i said the original version, as depressing a feel as its creators intended it to have, doesn't fit well with an upbeat jazzy twist to it. it just feels weird and awkward. i love jazz.. but this just sounds weird in my opinion.

(cont.) Incredible Talent, but just not Exit Music. Some might argue that no song is ever meant to play only one way. And some might argue a song should only be played like the artist meant it to be played. But I say if you can play someone elses song almost note for note and generate a completely different emotion to the listener, then you know what you're doing. But as far as a cover goes I think no matter that you add in for yourself it should always have the same feel.

Guitar25667 is right by saying that putting your own twist in is what makes it a cover. If they copied it note for note I'd certianly have a thing or 2 to say. BUT on the other hand I agree Jaemoon2 because the 2nd half of the song wasn't even recognizable as Exit Music. With MAYBE the exception of some of the chord progressions. This song's Beauty certainly is in it's simplicity and once it lost that haunting feeling of contemplation it should no longer be called a cover. Kudos to the group tho

The line about 'take out the trash' makes me wince, a reminder of the step-child identity that he rages within and against. But he makes music to make people feel enegized- that is what's heroic about him. I LOVE that he doesn't want listening to the album to be something heavy. It is a good interview, because LL goes into the complexities of being an artist from the word go

This song was made for Romeo & Juliet (Leo DiCaprio/ Claire Daines) & I believe it's played in it's entirety during the credits. More or less hence the title of the song. IMO it's one of the most moving, emotional Radiohead songs. A 'masterpiece' in the least. BTW Fabiocchi , you got the best Radiohead videos I've seen/heard to date . Keep up the excellent work :)

This is actually the first time I've heard the song. I just got done listening to this really cool mashup of it with a Chopin piece by this guy named Jack Conte. The original is of course better just because it's Radiohead...but check it out it was cool

E' una vergogna che la chiesa osi ancora spalare merda addosso agli omosessuali, che sono persone normalissime! Il mondo è pieno di gay, è normale che alcuni siano anche preti(tutt'altro discorso sono i pedofili).
